Eagles Nest 8/19/2024

Eagle Nation!

This week we play the Falcons. Football players will be wearing white jerseys, black socks and game day pants. Any lost helmets, guardian caps, flag belts, game pants, or practice pants will need to be paid for by the player/parent.

Code of Conduct
As a Player/Participant or Parent/Guardian of a child registered with Livonia Junior Athletic League (“LJAL”) Football or Cheer, it is your obligation to adhere and abide by the Codes of Conduct as set forth in the LJAL Bylaws, as well as the following Codes of Conduct. Failure to do so may result in an ejection, suspension and/or expulsion. Any individual suspended is prohibited from participating in any league, unit or team activity for the duration of said suspension. Also, only authorized personnel are allowed on the field during practice and games. Unless a Coach or Director has called you onto the field or on the track during game day - please stay in the designated spectator area.

For seven long years, I've dedicated at least 3 weekends per season to managing the concessions stand for our kids' football and cheer. From the early morning setup to the late evening cleanup, I've poured countless hours and a fair share of sweat into making sure the stand runs smoothly, keeping our young athletes and their families fed and happy. Each season, I've watched with pride as our kids give their all on the field and cheer their hearts out from the sidelines, and it’s been deeply rewarding to play a part in that experience.

But now, as my own children are growing older and my time is increasingly stretched thin, I find myself  searching for someone willing to take over this role. It’s not just about managing snacks and drinks; it’s about supporting our community, providing a place for families to connect, and ensuring that our league continues to thrive. If you're passionate about contributing to our kids' activities and ready to take on this responsibility, I would be immensely grateful for your support! Go Eagles!!!!!!

Photographers- We are looking for game photographers at the Flag, Freshman and JV level. These spots will satisfy your volunteer requirements for the season. You would photograph every single game from the field. One photographer for Football and one for Cheer. We do have a camera available if you don't own a sufficient enough one yourself. If interested please contact a Director.

Eagles Merch and Team Shop - THIS WEDNESDAY
Tony from Pro Design Graphics will be at practice on Wednesday if you want to order Eagles shirts, pants, tees, hats etc. Tony can help you customize your game day looks for the whole family. Support this great local business who has outfitted LJAL families for years.

Yard Signs

Parking
There is no parking along Henry Ruff. There are no parking signs posted and the Livonia Police Department has said they will ticket vehicles if they get called about folks parking there again. Hopefully with the scrimmage this past weekend that was a one and done.

Due to construction impacting parking at Bentley Stadium please utilize the southern most lot at the Livonia Rec Center for game days. There is limited parking in the 5 Mile lot reserved for those who are handicapped, elderly, expectant mothers and our referees.

Eagles Nest
In person Eagles Nest Unit Pep Rally and Meeting will be this Friday. Our cheerleaders will perform by squad. We will be selling pizza and Gatorade. We are wearing Black Game Socks this year. We will have game socks for sale for $5. Also for sale will be hardwood bonfire bundles supplied by Dukes Hardwood; a small business stated by Varsity Football player Vince Duke. He will be donating 10% of sales back to the Eagles as a thank you for the support this past summer.

Eagles Gear SWAP MEET
Do you have old Eagles shirts and camp pack items that no longer fit you or your kids? Cheer shoes, cleats etc? We are going to try something new this year and organize an Eagles Swag Swap Meet later this season. There will be a bin at practice over by the football POD/ bathrooms where we will be collecting shirts, shoes, shorts, sweatshirts - any old Eagles gear you want to pass down to the next generation of fans. Once we have a good collection we will share the date and everything will go out on a table and up for grabs, first come, first serve. The bin will be out everyday at practice.

Raffle
If you still need to drop off raffle tickets - Shawn will be at the field on Tuesday at 5:30pm. He will leave by 5:45pm. No more raffle tickets will be accepted after that. Raffle Pull is Tuesday, August 20th at 6:00pm in the concession stand at Bentley if anyone is interested in watching.

New Football Pants

Parents - your players received brand new football pants this year. In order to keep them nice for many years to come, please do not wash them with fabric softener.

Prior to the start of the season all players and cheerleaders must have a physical uploaded into Sports Engine.
