Football Uniform Fitting:
Location: Bentley Concession Stand

Varsity/JV: Tuesday, May 28, 2023. Varsity 5:30-6:15pm and JV 6:15-7:00pm.

Freshman/ Flag: Monday, June 3, Freshman 5:30-6:15pm and Flag 6:15-7:00pm. We will also take JV and Varsity makeups at this time.

It’s important to fit your player for their jersey with pads on. If you cannot make either of these fittings, please text Sarah Beri (313-218-5283) ASAP to get fitted or pass along sizing information.

Football Camp dates along with links to purchase your Camp Packs will be included in the next Eagles Nest.

Raffle Ticket Pick-Up: As most of you are aware, all Livonia Junior Athletic League Football and Cheer families are required to participate in one mandatory fundraiser per season. This year to stream-line the process we will require full payment of raffle tickets at our uniform pick-up. (20 tix/$100 for 1 child, 40 tix/$200 for 2+ children within the program). For those interested in receiving their tickets sooner (more time to sell!) there will also be an option to pick-up/pay for your tickets at our uniform fitting. Any additional tickets requests above the required amount can be coordinated via Celestina (text her at 248-207-8879). Please note additional tickets will also require prepayment at the time of pickup. All ticket stubs will still be collected in August.

Meet Our Coaches
Over the course of the next few Eagles Nest emails we want to introduce you to our Head Football Coaches. However, these bio's were not written by them but by the person who knows them best, their wives. Thank you ladies for sharing your husbands with us.

Mike Griswold - Flag Football
Coach Griswold has been a flag football coach since our son, who is now 12, was on the flag team. He spends hours planning with his coaches, making sure each season is successful and that each player feels like they are part of the team. He loves nothing more than to celebrate wins, but also does a great job pumping the team up after a loss. Coach Griswold may be the loudest coach on the football coaching staff, but ask any player that has been on his team and they will tell you that he is dedicated to football season!

Chris Doerr - Freshman Football
Meet Coach Doerr, the gridiron guru and maestro of munchkin football. With a whistle in one hand and a playbook in the other, he navigates the chaos of the field like a seasoned quarterback dodging linebackers. When he’s not drawing up X’s and O’s, you can find him doling out high-fives and motivational speeches that would make Vince Lombardi proud. Off the field, he’s a fan of dad jokes, an inspiring grill master, and a walking book of knowledge when it comes to all things. Whether he’s teaching tykes to tackle or inspiring the next generation of pigskin prodigies, Coach Doerr is the MVP of fun and games, with a playbook as thick as his love for the game.

SMYFA League
Our league is the Southeastern Michigan Youth Football Association. Below is the current DRAFT schedule. We know how much everyone wants to plan in advance but please remember this is tentative and subject to change. We are waiting on some information from Dearborn so stay tuned.

****Practice Field Notice*****
Due to construction at the Rec Center and subsequently on our normal practice field this year Eagles practice facilities have been moved to Riley Upper Elementary School for the duration of the season.
