Hello Eagles Parents,

We hope everyone had a great time today at the 3-Way Scrimmage.  A few notes for the upcoming week. 

Volunteer Sign-Up

LJAL is run by volunteers.  As Eagles, each family is required to fulfill 4 volunteer spots each season.  All volunteer spots are equally important, they are what makes the season successful.  Below is the link to sign up for this seasons spots.  Failure to meet the volunteer commitments will result in loss of veteran status/ early registration and a fee attached to the banquet tickets. https://signup.com/group/1156524894058

Friday Night Eagles Nest
Due to overwhelming demand we will order additional pizzas this week, so come hungry.  We take donations of Gatorade, baked goods, chips etc. to sell.  All the money goes to our unit fundraising.

• Please do not throw Gatorade bottles onto the track from the bleachers.  Also, remember that everyone needs to be responsible for their trash.  We do not have a clean up committee so we need everyone's help to keep Bentley looking good. 

Lawn Signs
If you are interested in purchasing a Livonia Eagles Football or Cheer yard sign, please complete the following google form.  If paying via Venmo, please pay using the "between friends" feature.  We have had several individuals select the business option.  We are NOT a business.  We are a non-profit.

Cornhole League
There is still time to join our Thursday night Cornhole League.  Cost is $20 for the entire season.  It's a great way to meet fellow parents and all the money we raise goes to our unit. Meet by the POD at 6pm Thursdays. 

Picture Day
Date changed to 9/7/22.  ALL PARTICIPANTS NEED TO HAVE THEIR PICTURE TAKEN!!!!  Even if you are not buying a package, your cheerleader/ player needs their photo taken for the yearbook.  Additional details to come. 

Jerseys
Football will hand out jerseys next week at practice. Black/ Pink sock bundles are $10 and will be available at the POD during the week or at the concession stand during Eagles Nest. 

Conduct
Parents if staying at practice to watch please sit off the field by Jamison or up by the trees/pod. Avoid standing in the middle of the fields (sideline), this is distracting to players and coaches. DO NOT walk across practice fields either. Parents are NOT allowed on the track during the games! Unless your volunteer spot specifically requires you to be there, you are a distraction the players and coaches do not need.  
VERY IMPORTANT: please remind your player that they need to be paying attention at practice at all times. All players need to keep their hands to themselves. This is very important for safety and ensuring your player is learning how to properly tackle and for plays. Any player not paying attention or putting their hands on other players will be sat.

Bentley Field, as well as our practice fields, are NON-SMOKING! The use of alcohol or drugs are not permitted on the grounds either.

Key Volunteers
This year we are looking for someone to fill the following KEY Volunteer Spots.  Being a Key Volunteer fulfills your family obligation for the year.

• Trunk or Treat Coordinator
• PINK Out Committee (4-6)
• Homecoming/ Family Day Coordinator
  • Liaison between Team Managers/ Cheer Directors to make sure all teams have floats/ banners/ flowers for 8th grade ceremony
• Game Photographers
  • Flag/ Freshman/Varsity Football and Cheer
  • Must have your own camera
  • Credit does not count unless you upload to Shutterfly account
  • Must be on the field and capture up-close action/ group shots
