Hello Eagles Parents,


Berwick/ Jameson Parking
Please utilize the Bentley Field parking lot and Livonia Rec Center lot as much as possible.  There are already NO PARKING signs up on Jameson and we anticipate Berwick will follow suit.  We have had complaints in the past from residents and even though we are parking on city streets around a city park the Eagles do not want to have to continually defend this to the city amid complaints and risk losing our practice field.

Sports Engine
Our daily communication tool is Sports Engine.  Download the App from Apple/ Android store.  Please disregard the year listed in the app for this season.  We are working with Sports Engine to get these updated to reflect 2022 rather than 2021.  The team information/ roster/ coaching staff information is correct for the 2022 season.

Volunteer Sign-Up

LJAL is run by volunteers.  As Eagles, each family is required to fulfill 4 volunteer spots each season.  All volunteer spots are equally important, they are what makes the season successful.  Below is the link to sign up for this seasons spots.  Failure to meet the volunteer commitments will result in loss of veteran status and a fee attached to the banquet tickets. https://signup.com/group/1156524894058

Absences
If your player will be absent from practice, please utilize Sports Engine to let your coach know.  If it is a planned absence, notify your coach the day before at practice.  The football attendance policy is one excused missed practice is up to the coach.  Two missed practices result in the player sitting out half of the game that week. Three missed practices result in the player sitting out the entire game that week. Cheer communicated their absence policy at the parent meeting as well as the communication that went home with the girls yesterday.
 
Raffle
Raffle tickets have been handed out over the past several months at events as we prepared for the season.  If you registered late and have not received raffle tickets yet – please contact Liz Groth asap ([email protected]) to pick up.  Regardless of if you registered late, picked up tickets late etc. You are still required to purchase them. Raffle tickets and money for the 2022 season are due back to Liz Groth by August 19, 2022 at 5:30pm.  Usually, you can find Liz around the POD at the beginning of football practice. Please un-bundle your tickets prior to returning them.

Eagles Nest
This Friday we will end practice at 7:30pm and hold our first Eagles Nest of the season.  Join us for our weekly parent meeting where we will communicate notes for the following week, answer questions and enjoy a performance by each of our Cheer Squads.  Pizza and Gatorade will be available for sale. If you are interested in assisting with selling pizza at Eagles Nest this season or you can donate Gatorade for us to sell, please contact Amanda Duke. ([email protected])

Physicals
If you have not loaded your child’s physical into Sports Engine you must do so ASAP.  You can download the MHSAA Sports Physical form via google.  If you need step by step instructions to upload a physical visit the “Parents” tab on the Livonia Eagles website and under "Documents" view the “Player Document Upload Instructions”.

Football Equipment
Equipment pick up will be on Wednesday 8/10 at the LJAL Football Office after practice. (37695 Schoolcraft Rd. Bldg. B)  Flag does not need to attend.  Freshman practice will end 30 minutes early so they can go straight to the LJAL Office for equipment handout.  JV and Varsity can head over after practice.  Camp pack contents were handed out Monday.  If you were not at practice or did not receive, see your coach.

• Optional equipment: forearm, hand, elbow, rib protection pads

August 20, 2022 - Football 3-Way Scrimmage
9 am - 2 pm on Saturday, August 20th we will participate in the Livonia 3-Way Football Scrimmage at Bentley Field. Schedule below.

Picture Day
